How to create a personal Billboard chart without using Excel

Spreadsheets work until they do not—merged cells, wrong weeks, and manual “weeks in chart” counts eat time. Here is a cleaner approach for a Billboard-style personal chart.

What you are replacing

Excel is flexible but generic. A chart-specific tool stores positions per week, links rows to dates, and calculates movement and streaks so you do not have to.

Weekly structure without formulas

You pick a chart date and fill positions 1…n. The system keeps history in order, so last week’s #3 and this week’s #1 are comparable without VLOOKUP gymnastics.

Import when you have backlog data

If you already have lists in text or CSV, you can bring them in instead of retyping. That is how many users migrate from years of ad hoc files.

Stats that feel like a “chart”

Yearly points, peaks, and artist summaries mirror what you expect from a chart culture—without building pivot tables yourself.
